Macross 7 is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and there's some big announcements for fans of the classic anime. FIRE BOMBER, the rock band that appears in Macross 7, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, announced during the Basara Nekki birthday event streamed by SHOWROOM on August 15 that they will release their first new single in 12 years, along with a vinyl edition of the Macross 7 ULTRA FIRE!! FIRE BOMBER BEST ALBUM on October 30. Details and more can be found below!
Celebrating the 24th anniversary of her debut, J-pop diva Kumi Koda is currently on her greatest hits tour, titled KODA KUMI LIVE TOUR 2024 ~BEST SINGLE KNIGHT~, with shows in 26 locations across Japan. This tour isn't the only thing occupying her time though, as she has also released her latest single!
Tei is a singer and songwriter who has been turning heads recently with their unique style of music and powerful voice. While their skills extend to playing many instruments, they can be seen playing the mini-harp on some of their recent songs. Anime fans may recognize their music from Tsurune: Tsunagari no Issha, where they providing the ending theme "Hitominaka", and The Weakest Tamer Began A Journey to Pick Up Trash, where they provided the ending theme "because". We recently had the opportunity to ask them some questions regarding their start in music, their unique sound, and lots more. QUEEN BEE is a Japanese rock band consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Avu-chan, bass guitarist Yashi-chan and lead guitarist Hibari-kun. They're probably best known for their songs "Mephisto", which served as the ending for the first season of Oshi no Ko, and "Violence", which was the ending for the 11th episode of Chainsaw Man. We were lucky enough to catch up to them at Anime Boston where they discussed among other things, the differences between American fans and Japanese fans, their sense of fashion, their favorite anime, and writing music for some of the most popular series of the last few years. Having quite the long career, there is sure some aspect of it that you'll want to check out!
