SOLIDEMO - Landscape Single Review

SOLIDEMO is one of the rare male pop groups we cover here at A-To-J.  Their recent album "8 Collars" was pretty amazing and I was interested to see where they would go next. "Landscape" is their latest single, and it's pretty much exactly what I was expecting from the group. The title track is also noteworthy as it is the twenty-second ending theme for the anime, Fairy Tale.

"Landscape" starts with a gentle piano intro. It comes off as a gentle love ballad, but builds up to the chorus in true pop fashion. It has a pretty strong melody and great production as one can expect from artists under the avex banner. I still find myself wondering why there are so many members in the group, as their voices are all pretty similar, but I'm into the sound nonetheless. That said there are some amazing melodies that play throughout the track and we're left with a strong song that I'm sure will become a standard in SOLIDEMO's catalog.

The B-side "Ride on" is a little more upbeat than the title track. It follows the same pop structure as "Landscape" but with less gentle introspection and more "hey"s and faster beats. It's not exactly a dance song but it's closer to that side of the musical spectrum. Production values shine through this track and you get the feeling that this song could just as easily have been the A-side.

While these are two strong tracks, this is still a pretty basic release for SOLIDEMO. It follows the same structure and style of their previous music. If you're into the group, you'll like these songs. If you're not well, this isn't gonna change your mind. Either way, we at A-To-J Connections love SOLIDEMO and we urge you to check them out!
