Anime Lockdown 2020 Report

The recent public health situation has seen several online events and conventions replace the in-person ones that were forced to cancel. Last weekend saw "Anime Lockdown 2020" go live.

This first year virtual con streamed on Twitch.tv.  There was also a discord server for fans to gather and talk about various subjects as well as displaying their cosplays.  The discord server had many vendors who are going through difficult times due to convention cancellations..  The panels averaged a few hundred to over 800 viewers on twitch, which ran very smoothly. The con  featured the following guests;

History of Shonen Jump

This panel went through a brief history of Shonen Jump from the 1960s and on and major events that shaped the genere. Interesting some of the first Jump magazine issues in 1968 featured many american comics including a translation of Flash Gordon.

Right Stuf / Nozomi Entertainment Industry Panel

The Right Stuf / Nozomi panel went through preorders and current projects along with trailers and answering fan questions.  Main highlights include A.D. Police Blu-ray ,Rising of The Shield Hero LE preorder. ARIA Blu-ray, which came from a successful kickstarter, as well as many current and future Gundam releases.

DISCOTEK MEDIA Industry Panel

Discotek went through various new and upcoming releases as well as rescues.  Some titles included were blu-ray releases of Galaxy Express 999, Love Hina, Urusei Yatsura, and Lupin III.  As well as classic titles such as Cleopatra from Osamu Tezuka.  This popular panel had over 800 viewers.
