For More on Kaya:
July 26th saw the release of Xaa-Xaa’s latest single, Maru to Batsu. With the concept exploring what one considers to be correct or incorrect, whether it be the consequences of actions or words, we dive into another one of the band’s gloomy yet captivating perspectives on life.
CindyKate’s drummer Sami passed away in an unexpected accident on July 18th. Bandmate Yuui tweeted:
“Ex. Sami Kun's drummer Sami-kun died in an unexpected accident. To remember is only his breaking way of life and smiles. When I was playing the band I thought that if I thought that the light of life could be seen, I think that I could live only 4 more years. I said goodbye to you the other day. Until the day we meet again.”
Our condolences go out to Sami’s family and friends.

Nothing Beautiful In This Forsaken World: An Interview with Visual Kei Band RAINDIA and gained some recognition recently following the release of their first single, "TRASH JUICE". This five-piece band have an interesting melodic take on the visual kei genre and followed up that first single release with their first EP, "Ningen Shikkaku". It was in this period that we at A-to-J sat down with them to discuss their beginnings, their sound, and their future as a band. Unfortunately for everyone involved they recently announced that they would be breaking up due to musical differences though we hope that everyone can still enjoy their great music and this interview!
It has been an interesting nine years for Japanese rock duo VAMPS. Forged in 2008 by two musicians already famous in their own right -- HYDE, vocalist of the legendary pop-rock band L’Arc~en~Ciel (anime fans may recognize his voice from the Full Metal Alchemist opening, “Ready Steady Go”) and K.A.Z. from the grittier alt-rock Oblivion Dust. They are supported by bassist Ju-ken (GacktJOB, Spin Aqua, Tomoyasu Hotei), Jin Saito (L’Arc~en~Ciel support), and Arimatsu.
Having already worked together for three years on HYDE’s chart-topping solo albums 666 and Faith, VAMPS just seemed like more of a good thing, even if it was just a cheeky side project.
Pentagon is one of the hottest visual kei bands around today and following a string of strong releases and tours they recently announced that they are embarking on their first overseas live performance at A-Kon in Texas! To go along with this overseas expansion they also took on the name "Pentagon Japan"! With all these announcements and the release of latest single, "CRAZY TRIBE", we at A-to-J decided that now was a good time to get some answers from the band themselves about their history, their music, and their upcoming trip to the US!
