Description:
Welcome! Here's the FINAL episode of "Drink Talk Learn", Episode 69! It's funny as we've been working up to this number just due to "lol, funny internet number!" reasons for months and then didn't even mention it live once. When we decided to sunset DTL earlier this year it was decided that we'd wrap it up on Episode 69 sometime before the show's second anniversary in May. As you can tell by this upload that got WAY away from us and would take almost half the year again to bridge the gap between episodes 68 and 69. Part of the problem was just real life getting in the way much of the late spring and fall, and another part was finding hosts to take part in it. We jokingly said we'd set October 1 as the final episode date, and when Callie said she wanted to be in on it we decided to just go with it. So here it is! The last episode! We had a lot of fun on this one and it was definitely like old times here, more so than even the last dozen or so episodes as we haven't had Callie on one of these in about a year. While this is definitely the last numbered episode, we probably will have random one-off Drink Talk Learn streams here and there for special occasions or when the mood takes us. We mentioned that we'd probably have had one this month ANYWAY for October if we'd have kept our original schedule, so don't be too upset if you want to see more in the future. Then again, we might just never do one again so be sure to load up that playlist! Oh, and be sure to check us out at all the upcoming conventions as these DTLs were really started as a way to workshop panel ideas during the lockdown. PMX specifically is on the horizon and three of the four hosts will be hosting panels there! Welcome! Here's the sixty-eigth episode of our "Drink Talk Learn" streams and we're only one more episode away from the final DTL! It's kind of telling as to WHY we're ending the show considering how much trouble we've had in these final ten episodes to find co-hosts to join us and this one saw a couple drop out before we actually went live and we are down to a trio again. That said we had a lot of fun throughout and even though I presentations were fairly long, we moved pretty quickly and still kept it all pretty tight as far as run time goes. This will most likely be Warren's last episode and he went out with a cool little set of questions as his presentation that we kinda wish we'd had time to go over them all. Manuel talked some JRPGs and basically filled out six different DTLs into one. Pleiades talked stonks again and is that really surprising? It's been sort of a series and it's interesting to see it end here right before the show ends totally. Check it out and maybe answer some of the questions during Warren's presentation in the comments below. The next episode will be the FINAL DRINK TALK LEARN EVER! We may bring it back as a special stream in the future, but there are no plans to do that at the moment so tune in as you can. Also, the last one will feature Matt and Molly for the last time and it might be a bit of a floating show until we can definitely lock down a date that works for everyone. Welcome! Here's the sixty-seventh episode of our "Drink Talk Learn" streams and it was quite the show! Daikon rejoined us for the first time in nearly two years and she returned with a redux of her Tales of Symphonia presentation, but this time she isn't on camera! Even though she wasn't on camera during this one she really drove the spirit of the show forward as we all took the "drink" in "Drink Talk Learn" a little more seriously than usual. Elsewhere Warren did his reudx of his presentation on Storm, a band he made up that Daikon probably still thinks is real, Manuel talked more about Hawkwind, and Pleiades had a presentation about the Gizmondo. The latter presentation is the most interesting as up to that point we'd actually been running a fairly tight show and were looking to clear this show in under three hours. We touched towards four and Pleiades presentation was a mess of interruptions, drunkenness, and pretty much no one watching but our mod who kept yelling at us to get it together. So in other words a microcosm as to why we plan to end DTL! That's right, this is the first of the final three and we only have TWO MORE TO GO! We're going to have a somewhat shaky schedule though as some of the next weeks will be taken up by conventions but please watch until the very end! That's right, we're almost to Episode 69! Welcome! Here's the sixty-sixth episode of our "Drink Talk Learn" streams and we're so close to the end of the show that we can taste the finish line! Gross as that may sound the way this episode came together is probably a sign as to why DTL isn't really a feasible show to continue in the long-run of things no matter how we want to keep it alive. Originally thought to be another five-host episode, we suddenly found ourselves down to just three again even though we only have a few episodes left. Hao joined us as a host again and he definitely went out with a bang and the show was an interesting mix of drawn out stuff, and really tight moments. The Werewolf presentation was as long as it was all over the place but it helped push everything over the three hour mark, something we actually were hoping to stay under for this one so not sure that's a win (lol) let us know if you sit all the way through its randomness. There was a brief appearance by Callie (that warranted her making the thumbnail anyway) and Hao talked Elden Ring while teasing Fortnite, not something we were really falling for but a great presentation otherwise. Pleiades got some facts wrong on his Oscar Slap presentation (Drinking Game: Take a shot each time he makes a factual error!) but it was one of his stream of consciousness/discussion style presentations so it can be forgiven. This DTL really put the "drink" into the show as everyone was pretty lit to the point of being near death throughout so check it out for that and be sure to tune in as we continue down this road as we only have THREE more episodes to go. Molly rejoined us and we had already scheduled Weston for this one (replacing a Peachy Parade hopeful that wasn't able to make it) so we had a VERY rare five member cast. We haven't had this amount of people/presentations since Callie left so it was pretty interesting and a throwback to the way things were. Also, probably due to the fact that we had five people, we moved really fast and even though just about all the presentations pushed into the 30 minute territory, we still finished under the four hour mark. Unfortunately Molly got pretty tired partway through, she WAS attending in her pajamas after all, so she wasn't present for Pleiades presentation but was there in spirit. The presentations were all over the place per usual with Manuel fulfilling another one that was mentioned before, Warren stealing part of an idea from Manuel (though it was suggested by Weston), Molly talking otters, and more. It was a lot of fun and a surprising no-nonsense type show that is almost all presentations beyond the intro and closing. Crazy stuff. This week saw Hinacchi return as she was one of the very first guests on DTL almost two years ago on our third episode. Sadly Warren somehow forgot he had a wedding to attend on this day so he was only present during the first hour before leaving. His presentation was part about his wedding and part about a webtoon called "Sexcercise" so he still tossed his lot into things! We kind of kept this one moving a bit more tight, perhaps due to Warren's absence, and Manuel closed out his presentations on the Four Classic Chinese Novels with a presentation on "Dream of The Red Chamber", Hina talked about one of her favorite games "Pump It Up" (which you can see her stream on her own twitch channel on occasion), and Pleiades talked about Code Geass which is pretty funny since that's been a topic that's been coming up a lot on recent A-to-J streams. Welcome! Here's the twenty-eigth episode of our "Drink Talk Learn" streams and this is probably the first of our "Lost Episodes". This one has an interesting story as at the time we had been hit HARD with copyright claims from our older episodes of "A-to-J Talks" and the early (first 40) episodes of "Ultra Podcast Z". This issue, which still plagues us today as these old episodes are mostly lost even to this day, caused us to be a lot more careful about using music during our Drink Talk Learn streams (this was before Twitch would start all its nonsense regarding licensed music too) so this episode was always pegged as one that we'd put into the vault until some time later. LATER IS NOW! It's another Christmas season, Drink Talk Learn is on an early hiatus (lots of nonsense brought about that, but that's another story) and we decided now is a good time to release this as we don't have a holiday one this year. This is definitely a time capsule of sorts for us as the show has gone through a LOT of changes since this first year, and there are another 30 episodes from this one, but it's fun and crazy how many presentations were lost here. Namely Manuel's "Outlaws of The Marsh" presentation (which has been referred to in later DTLs) and Callie's first attempt at VTuber Timer-chan (which she completely redid in two separate DTLs later). Elsewhere Warren talked about his favorite XMas music (which honestly is why this episode took so long to come out!) and Pleiades gave some YouTube recs. Not the most seasonally specific topics but we were having fun! Check it out and wait for the DTL return in January! Welcome! Here's the sixtieth-first episode of our "Drink Talk Learn" streams and we had a lot of fun with this one! That's a funny thing to say since they're ALL fun in their own ways, but it's been many months that we've broken the four-hour limit on stream length and it was for reasons we all gel with live. All our presentations ran a little longer than usual so we got to that limit quickly even though we were moving relatively fast in-between. Warren did his third random trivia game, Manuel dragged another Halloween topic out of October and talked about Vlad III (AKA "The Impaler"), Molly had a loose talk about executive functioning that actually has been proving beneficial to us after the fact, and Pleiades talked about the band ACME, which is a band we really love here at A-to-J Connections! Lots of fun to be had and there was even a very annoying cricket who decided to show up here and there to ruin Manuel's day! Anyhow, check it out and be sure to remember... "What is a Christmas? A miserable little pile of presents!" since we ARE moving towards that time of year quickly and we DO always tend to overdo it with holidays over here!
